Building Bright Futures partnered with Early Years to present the Mentoring Apprentices and Pre-Apprentices Program (MAPP), which offered optional Mentor Training and a Community of Practice. Early Childhood Educator Apprenticeship Mentors are responsible for guiding the pre-apprentices/apprentices as they complete their work-based learning, and imparting knowledge and skills based on the mentor’s experience and education.
The Mentor Community of Practice consisted of virtual meetings, hosted bi-monthly via Zoom. These virtual interactive meetings addressed a combination of helpful topics and opportunities for fielding questions from mentors. Meetings also included guest speakers and sharing of experiences from active mentors, with related small group discussions.
