Building Bright Futures is partnering with Child Care Services Association (CCSA) to present the Mentoring Apprentices and Pre-Apprentices Program (M.A.P.P.), which offers optional Mentor Training and a Community of Practice. Early Childhood Educator Apprenticeship Mentors are responsible for guiding the pre-apprentices/apprentices as they complete their work-based learning, and imparting knowledge and skills based on the mentor’s experience and education.
CCSA hosted a webinar in October 2023 for mentors of apprentices in early childhood programs. The webinar highlighted mentoring best practices and included interactive conversations.
The Mentor Community of Practice consists of virtual meetings, hosted bi-monthly through the end of 2024. These virtual interactive meetings will address a combination of helpful topics and opportunities for fielding questions from mentors. Meetings may also include guest speakers or sharing of experiences from active mentors, with related small group discussions.
